AGXX® technology

Mesh coatings and ae-aqua rings

The ae-aqua filters are based on specially coated meshes using the AGXX® technology which is distinguished by its antimicrobial effect. To ensure a preferably great effective surface in installed condition, the meshes are generally cut into strips and then reshaped into ae-aqua rings. The meshes can also be reshaped differently to match different applications.

Principle of use

The fluids to be treated are put into contact with the mesh surface with antimicrobial effect. This is on the one hand possible by conducting the liquids in the circuit across the effective surface, and on the other hand by leaving the specially coated meshes in the respective fluid. Moving/mixing the fluid improves the germ-killing effect of the ae-aqua filter elements.

Inhibition zone formation

The antibacterial effect of the ae-aqua filter can be determined with an inhibition zone test. A commercially available dip slide in a portion of its nutritive substance is cut out with a piece of AGXX® coated mesh and subsequently wetted with the fluid to be examined. After completed tempering, the inhibition zone formation shown in the figure appears. The special surface coating allows the reliable killing of a multitude of germs in and around the mesh. This includes bacterial such as legionella and Pseudomonas aeruginosa as well as yeasts and fungi. There are no known resistances.
